How I Manage Project Memory and Save Tokens When Building Mac Apps with Claude
Original title: Managing a project/memory
A developer built a small Mac app for personal use with Claude, relying on readme.md and session_state.md to track project state. After each code change, they had Claude run git commit push main to push to GitHub, and frequently used /clear.
Hi,
Using Claude to make simple Mac apps for myself.
Currently how I work is I have readme.md and session_state.md.
Once Claude does some code I tell it to git commit push main, to GitHub.
I tell it to try to keep session_state file slim, same with readme.
From what I understand when I commit the commits include already a lot of “data”.
The commands I use is basically only /clear quite often.
I don’t like Claude saving memory to user folder, so I tell it to save files into docs/ in my repo instead of it has to, I think it only does it in plan mode though?
Anyway my question is how do I improve my workflow, and minimise the tokens used?
Thanks for any tips
