I've been using Codex alongside Claude and other coding agents, and I'm curious how other people actually manage this.
For example, I might use one agent for a broad implementation, Codex for another approach or review, and Claude for refactoring or design work.
The part I'm finding interesting isn't really running them separately. Git and worktrees already make that pretty manageable.
It's what happens when two agents both produce a result that looks "done."
How do you decide which one to keep?
Do you usually:
- Run the same task through multiple agents and compare the results?
- Use different agents for different types of work?
- Have one agent review another agent's work?
- Or just stick with Codex from start to finish?
I'm working on an open source project called AX Code around this workflow. It provides an environment for running coding agents in isolation and comparing their results.
I'm still trying to figure out whether this is actually useful or if Git, worktrees, and the existing agent tools already solve most of it.
I'd be especially interested in hearing from people who use Codex together with Claude or other agents. What's the most annoying part of that workflow for you?
